Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can have it deleted any time.

The waitlist

When you join the waitlist on powhunt.com we save:

• Your email address, so we can tell you when Powhunt is ready.
• Your home mountain, if you pick one, so we know which mountains to focus on.
• Where you came from: the link you used (for example a ?ref= tag) or the site that sent you, so we know which posts are working.
• When you signed up.

That's it. We use your email only to tell you about Powhunt. We'll never sell it, rent it or hand it to advertisers.

The app

The Powhunt app doesn't need an account. Your favorite mountains are saved on your phone, not on our servers. The app downloads forecasts from us, and like any server ours briefly sees your IP address when it does. We don't use it to track you, and there are no ads or ad trackers in the app.

If we add features that need more (like snow alerts sent to your phone), we'll update this page first and ask before turning anything on.

Who helps us run Powhunt

• Supabase stores the waitlist, visit counts and forecasts (servers in the US).
• GitHub Pages hosts this website.
• Google Fonts serves the typeface on this site.
• ntfy sends us a heads-up when someone joins. It sees a shortened version of the email (like abc***@gmail.com), never the full address.

Each of these sees only what it needs to do its job.

Counting visits

When you open powhunt.com we count the visit: which page, and where you came from (a ?ref= tag or the site that linked you). That's all. We don't store your IP address, set cookies, or use Google Analytics or any other tracking service, so a visit can't be tied back to you.

Your choices

Want off the list, or want to see or delete what we have on you? Email privacy@powhunt.com and we'll take care of it, usually within a few days.

Kids

Powhunt isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we'll update the date above, and for anything significant we'll email the people on the list.
